You do not need a referral from your doctor; however, some extended health care insurance companies require a referral from a doctor in order to reimburse you for physiotherapy expenses.
  • Arrive 10 minutes early to fill out your personal details and the consent forms. We will also double check your insurance coverage.
  • Physiotherapist will start with asking you questions related your medical history to get all the information about your current issue e.g.
    • When did the pain start?
    • How did you get the injury?
    • Does the pain travel or stay in the same area?
    • Does the pain get worse or get better?
    • What is your goal?
  • Then your Physiotherapist will do a complete assessment to figure out what is the condition and the cause.
  • Based on your history and examination, the physiotherapist will give you a specific diagnosis so you understand exactly what is causing your condition .
  • Physiotherapist will develop a specific treatment plan for you, explain it to you and then start the first session.
The initial appointment takes about 60-90 minutes. It is longer than the subsequent visit since the first appointment is more of a clinical evaluation followed by treatment session.
  • Bring your insurance information and doctor referral if you have one
  • Bring any X-ray, scans or any medical reports if have any of these.
  • List of any medications you are taking for your condition.
  • Wear appropriate comfortable clothing for easy access to the affected area of the body.if you forget we do have gowns available here.
Physiotherapy treatments vary in time depending on the area of injury and the nature of the condition. Generally, treatment lasts around 45 minutes in length.
You may feel a little sore after the assessment and the treatment for one or two days then you will feel better.
After your first assessment, your physio will be able to offer an estimation of the number of visits needed for your case. This may vary during your treatment as your physio will assess your progress on each visit.
Yes. We are in a large plaza with lots of parking.
Yes, we do the direct billing submission to the majority of insurance companies, but few insurance companies only reimburse directly to the patients.
Our Physiotherapy clinic is not covered by OHIP.
